Hosting a Product Party for a Home Based Business
Having a party can be and should be great fun! Every host wants
to have a successful party - friends are laughing, chatting and buying.
You know you had a successful party when people leave and tell you
what a fantastic time they had with big smiles on their faces or when
people are still talking about your party weeks later. They may even ask
when you are going to have another one!
There are many things you, the host, can do to ensure a nice, friendly,
fun atmosphere. One of the first things is to think of your friends. What
kind of products would you and your friends like? Is it candles?
Makeup? Jewelry? Home products? Spices? For your first product
party, try to pick a product you and most of your friends would like to
own.
Also foods and drinks can be fun. This can be best done through a
theme party. A theme party can be done very simple to extravagant.
Some theme ideas:
Winter Wonderland Bar: with some cotton balls (snow), a portion of
your kitchen counter can be turned into a haven of winter theme with
hot drink. Winter Wonderland items can include flavored coffee, teas,
hot chocolate, Baileys, chocolate covered spoons.
Mom & Tots: have a party with child care provided. Coffee and sweets
or veggies for moms and juice and a snack for the kids.
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate: treats could include chocolate
muffins, cookies, fudge and even a chocolate fountain.
To ensure a good time, be a good hostess. These are simple and
commons sense things but during the excitement of the party, it can be
easily forgotten. Greet your guest at the door, introduce your guest to
everyone else, go out of your way to make conversation during the
evening with all guest especially with those who don’t know a lot of
people at the party (there is nothing worst for a shy guest then being
at a party feeling left out), laugh, smile a lot and when it is time to
leave, walk your guest to the door and thank them for coming.
